NHL Celebrates International Women's Day with an All Female Broadcast Crew

This past Sunday March 8th, INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY, was a historic day in the world of hockey!

The NHL game between the Calgary Flames and Vegas Golden Knights on Sportsnet yesterday featured an all-female broadcast team. Play-by-play announcer Leah Hextall, game analyst Cassie Campbell-Pascall and reporter Christine Simpson worked the March 8th game.

In addition, Sunday’s broadcast was produced by a female production team live from Calgary, Toronto and Salmon Arm, B.C., including Rogers Hometown Hockey executive producer Alison Redmond, game producer Maria Skinner and director Dawn Landis.

We wanted to take a moment to congratulate this highly talented cast, and thank them for inspiring young women to bridge the gender-based gap.  Here's hoping that one day this will be as common as any broadcast. Well done!
