The Academy Awards most commonly known as The Oscars have been around since 1928. Based In California The Academy Awards focus on the artistic and technical achievement in the film industry. Presented by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, the Oscars take place each year to celebrate and highlight the exploit of Film makers, actors, editors, and more!!

There are now 24 categories for the Awards

Statuette

The Statuette represents a Knight holding a sword while standing on a reel of film. It was designed by Cedric Gibbons. The materials for the Awards varied over the years. Starting with a gold plated bronze statuette, to a plaster statuette during World War to due to the low supplies of metal, and now to a gold-platted britannium statuette.
